How will the pandemic affect my visit?
We follow the recommendations and guidelines put forth by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to safe guard the safety of our team and that of our patients.
We believe in the merit of face mask and social distancing during the outbreak.
Prior to your visit, please let us know if you have any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours:
- fever or chills
- cough
- shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- fatigue
- muscle or body aches
- headache
- new loss of taste or smell
- sore throat
- congestion or runny nose
- nausea or vomiting
- diarrhea
Please let us know if, within the past 14 days, you have been in close physical contact (6 feet or closer for a total of 15 minutes) with anyone who is known to have COVID-19 or anyone who has any symptoms of COVID-19.
Please let us know if you are currently isolating or quarantining because you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
Please let us know if you are waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test.
How does Ambulatory UFE works?
- Ambulatory UFE is a same day treatment, allowing for recovery in the comfort of your own home.
- UFE takes around 1 hour with immediate post recovery of 2-4 hours.
How should I prepare for UFE procedure?
- Eat light the days prior to your UFE appointment.
- Nothing to eat or drink 6-8 hours prior to your UFE appointment.
- Please stock your pantry with broth, saltine crackers, fruits/vegetables and stool softeners.
- Please arrange for an adult friend or family member to accompany you home.
How should I prepare for post UFE recovery?
- Please plan on taking 7-14 days off from work. The average recovery for UFE is 11 days.
- No heavy lifting of 10 pounds or greater for 7-10 days.
- No intimacy for 7-10 days.
- Please plan on having an adult friend or family member be with you in the first 48-72 hours after UFE.
- Please DO NOT plan on driving, operating any machinery, or make any important decision on the day of UFE and for 2 days afterward.
