EMBOLIZATION is a technique used to stop bleeding or to block blood flow to a tumor or abnormal area of tissue.
In 1968, Radiologist Dr. Sadek Hilal developed embolization to treat abnormality of the blood vessels in the brain by injecting “substances” to occlude them.
The “substances” have advanced since the 60’s.
